Tree Diagrams

This week we have been learning to use tree diagrams to identify all possible outcomes.  This is part of probability.  Here is my tree diagram showing all sandwich possibilites from these few ingredients.  I found tree diagrams easy to make and you can eassily see all the outcomes.  They can take a long time though.

Pest Invasion

This week in reading we have been deciding if possums are pests or they are not. In my opinion they are not a pest because they are fun to trap.  I also and that we should not 1080 them.

Anzac Art

This week since its close to Anzac day we decided to do some Anzac art. This is my Anzac art work. This took two days, one to do the background and about 1 hour and a half to do the poppies. I am happy with how my art turned out and I had fun doing this kind of art work because I like using pastels, paint and sharpies.

Brunner Mine Site Visit

Yesterday T3 went to the Brunner Mine where 65 people had died in explosion in 1896. We have been reading a book about the mine disaster in class called "The Mine's Afire." We went there to find out more information about the mine. In the afternoon we went to the Stillwater Cemetery to read out the names of the miners that had died and got buried in that Cemetery.  

I learnt that after the mine exploded they still had to go back into the mine to work for money to feed their families.

What's been in the news this week?

Thirteen common dolphins were found dead in Marlborough Sounds. They do not know why the dolphins stranded on the island because they did not look sick.

My opinion is that it is very sad that whales and dolphins die from beach stranding.  I hope scientists work out why and fix it soon.

Auckland vs Lime Scooters

Auckland are thinking about permanently banning the lime scooter due to the brakes failing. 
My opinion is to ban them and make something else that the brakes won't jam up and fail on. The council pulled them off the street last week until they fix the problem. Over five people have in hospital.

The council is making the final decision on the ban today.
